The OWB (Original White Balance) filter allows you to use an astro-modified Canon R100 R50 R10 R7 for natural everyday photography again – without the typical red colour cast. With the filter installed, the automatic white balance (AWB) works reliably once more and provides balanced, natural colors.
The IR absorption filter used in the filter holder reduces the infrared portion of the incoming light and restores the color balance required for daylight photography. As a result, the astro-modified camera behaves like a standard Canon RP when photographing ordinary subjects. The filter glass used is a high-quality original Canon filter glass with a thickness of 0.6 mm. It was specifically developed for use in digital cameras and meets higher optical standards than inexpensive aftermarket replacements or filter glasses of unknown origin.
Thanks to the practical clip-in design, the filter can be installed quickly and removed again whenever required.

The product image shows a photograph of green vegetation taken with an astro-modified Canon RP without a filter, alongside the same scene captured with the infrared absorption filter installed. The filter restores the color reproduction to the way it appeared before the camera was astro-modified. Unlike some filter holders made from PETG or comparable standard materials, our filter holder is manufactured from high-quality engineering-grade polycarbonate. This material offers significantly higher temperature resistance, greater rigidity, and improved dimensional stability. While PETG holders may soften at elevated ambient temperatures, our design is rated for a wide temperature range from –40 °C to +115 °C, making it suitable even for demanding conditions inside a Canon camera body.
The high mechanical strength of the material combined with precise manufacturing results in clean contours and a secure fit. The result is a robust and durable holder with reliable performance even during extended shooting sessions or at elevated internal camera temperatures.
Thanks to our many years of experience in astrophotography camera modifications, we maintain a large inventory of these filters and are therefore able to pass the resulting cost advantages directly on to our customers. Naturally, this does not affect the quality of the product.
