Canon EOS 600Da Astrokamera – astromodifiziert, 3 Jahre Garantie

Canon EOS 600Da Astrophotography Camera – Astro-Modified, 3-Year Warranty
Thanks to the astrophotography modification, this Canon EOS 600Da offers approximately four times higher sensitivity to H-alpha light at 656 nm compared with the standard factory configuration. As a result, red hydrogen nebulae and faint emission regions become significantly more visible than with an unmodified camera. The camera is ideally suited for deep-sky imaging, Milky Way photography and astronomical long-exposure photography.
Professional Astrophotography Modification
The factory-installed filter strongly limits the camera’s sensitivity in the deep-red region of the visible spectrum. This is exactly where the H-alpha emission line of hydrogen, which is particularly important for astrophotography, lies – at a wavelength of 656.3 nm. Many of the most impressive gas and emission nebulae emit a large proportion of their visible light in precisely this spectral region.
During the modification, the original UV/IR blocking filter is removed, increasing the camera’s sensitivity to H-alpha light by approximately four times. Structures in hydrogen nebulae that appear only faintly, or are barely visible at all with an unmodified camera, can therefore be recorded with significantly greater intensity and detail.
This substantially increased sensitivity provides an important practical advantage: at the same exposure time, considerably more H-alpha signal is recorded. Alternatively, individual exposure times can be shortened accordingly. This makes it possible to capture significantly more usable individual exposures during a single observing night. This is particularly advantageous when subsequently stacking multiple exposures: more usable signal and a larger number of frames improve the signal-to-noise ratio and allow finer structures, smoother tonal transitions and overall significantly better results when imaging emission nebulae.
In the exploded technical diagram, the IR/UV blocking filter can be seen under item no. 2. This filter is removed during the modification process, increasing H-alpha sensitivity (hydrogen line at 656 nm) by a factor of 4 (and even 7x for the sulfur SII line at 672 nm). Autofocus and infinity focus continue to function exactly as on a standard production model. The sensor (3) remains protected by the uppermost filter (1), and the sensor cleaning function is retained.
The sensor system is precision-adjusted to ±0.01 mm in accordance with Canon specifications, ensuring that autofocus and infinity focus remain fully functional. The camera’s automatic sensor-cleaning system also continues to operate without restriction after the modification.

Advantages of the Canon EOS 600Da
The Canon EOS 600Da features an 18-megapixel APS-C sensor and, at 560 g, is particularly lightweight. This makes it very suitable for smaller mounts and telescope setups. The EOS 600Da is therefore a highly attractive and affordable entry-level camera for deep-sky astrophotography. The successor models, the Canon EOS 650D and 700D, also feature a touchscreen. The Canon EOS 750D/760D additionally offers a 24-megapixel sensor and built-in Wi-Fi.
Also Suitable for Daylight Photography
Included with the camera is an OWB Mirror Box Filter (Original White Balance) containing the original Canon blocking filter removed from the camera during the astrophotography modification. This original filter is installed in a suitable mirror-box filter frame. When required, it can be used for daylight photography to achieve colour reproduction comparable to that of an unmodified Canon camera.
The OWB filter can be used with Canon EF lenses as well as many lenses from Sigma, Tamron, Samyang and other manufacturers. Canon EF-S lenses are not compatible with this mirror-box filter due to their optical and mechanical design. For daylight photography with EF-S lenses, suitable screw-in filters for the lens filter thread can be used instead. These are available in various sizes from well-stocked photographic retailers or, for example, on eBay at relatively low cost. Daylight photography is, of course, also possible without the OWB filter. In this case, colour reproduction can be adjusted accordingly by using a custom white balance.
